ajbird's Writtings/Poetry
Hello
# 1 March 2003
See the Bird in the Guild cage,
Filled with anger filled with Rage!
I have been lost from time to time,
Literally walking circles in my mind!
What have we lost? What have we gained?
Amidst all the wrong, the turmoil and pain!
# 2 April 2003
What does by nature make one wild?
Could it be yesterdays Bastard child?
We all bear witness, we should all agree?
This should not be within our society!
We choose this not as a person to Be!
Why are we punished so unmercifully!!!
Imagine if? You will, can, or would try,
All the pain. Hurt and agony,
That makes one want to cry!

Re: ajbird's Writtings/Poetry
welcome to the forums. Your poems are great, but the first one's ending don't sound like its complete..unless I'm reading it the wrong way.

Re: ajbird's Writtings/Poetry
Hello BVR
Thanks for your thoughts. No you didn't read it wrong. These are some of my first attempts at putting thoughts on paper and admittedly they are incomplete.
The first six of what I have written are pretty much the same, just a collection of thoughts, and questions.
# 2b November 5-2003
Welcome Home, Home sweet Home,
Home is where the heart is!
If one can never go Home again?
One may never come Home again?
As we age in our travels,
Straying away from Home!
The closer we actually
Come to being Home!
Home is a place we
Make for ourselves
It is simply where
We want to Be!.
# 3 “Memories” November 3 2003
A few lines from a troubled mind!
Once upon a time, From the recesses of my mind
Comes! Thoughts now and then, that have been held in a pen.
Was there really a time and place of thought’s, I’ll have to face?
May no may be yes!, only time will tell I guess?
We beat ourselves about the brow, to be at home milking the cow!
I’m getting long in the tooth now! Time to be going there are fields to plow.
What is it we cherish most today, Life? Or Ghost of Yesterday?.
Some of US will never understand Why, we’ve killed another Man.
Once bitten twice shy, again it’s time to go and cry!
Have to continue on knowing that the road is long.
To be used in life is sometimes fate! I hope Saint Peter opens the gate!
We are told of Gods unrelenting Grace! Someday soon I’ll see His face.
I will always remember this song, ”You have to walk that lonesome valley alone”
John Bird
# 4 November 5 2003
The old ones mouth piece, Yet holds poised spears
Having been through life, Having seen and heard.
With aged hands and a heavy heart,
They have allowed young dreamers their adventurous lot.
They have been their to counsel you and me!
War is hell there is not doubt!
It wasn’t the old ones who? Sold! US! out!
Everybody is afraid there is no doubt!
We the People have, lost! Our! Clout!
# 5
No rest for the weary, there is no peace of Mind.
The Hearts a lonely hunter, the Feet must march in time!
The Soul and the Conscience, the Brain you will find
That one with-out the other, leaves One lost in time.
The Body becomes weary, the Mind glum, and dreary.
Weary of Body, Weary of Mind, one goes on, ones left behind.
My Heart yearns and wanders across the Great Divide!
Aimlessly and Happily, for it’s a safe place to Hide!
The circle within, the circle without,
You don’t come in! We might come out?!
# 6
As I lay in bed after visiting the wall.
I felt a hand on my back as I recall!
I remember thinking this could not be?
As I was alone in Washington D.C!
I have come to Honor and Praise them all!
OH!, to have said that before their fall
Again thank You For your thoughts
May God Bless
John Bird

Re: ajbird's Writtings/Poetry
Hello
# 7
Foregoing life limb, and
Happiness! Thinking someday,
We could rest, While fighting in
A far away land, My wife
Nancy, Became pregnant!
By another Man!
With our Q-allotment money
They did ride, She bought a
Red Mustang, nineteen sixty-five
That Q-allotment money meant for
Our home soon dwindled
And then it was Gone!
We humped through the
Jungle, Rice patties and Fields
All day long, for our C-ration meals
Neither wrong nor right, We
Fought for our lives, As Charlie
You see, proved quite an adversary!
It reminded me or tales yore
When the British were on our Shore!
# 8
Sometimes life is tragic!
It seams full of woe!
Why I went to war?
Today I don’t know?
We know now, and understand,
There’s been a line drawn
In the sand,
As life goes quickly past,
Like the sand in an hour glass!
It seams the one who? Profess
To care, are really the one’s
Who? Have no idea, Do as WE
Say! Not as We do, We think
There’s something wrong with You!
# 9
Persecution, as bad as it sounds
Prepares one to be heaven bound!
Proves our worth, for HIS Plan,
Perseverance should be our Stand.
Perhaps the trials in one’s life,
Prospers one, through grief and strife?
Placing those who feel its pain, To
Pose thoughts, We should refrain? Thus
Purifying the soul, for the wedding feast
Providence by GOD! takes away our grief!
# 10
I fought with HIM all the way.
That is until, This very Day.
Thinking I had something to say!
When all along HE was right!
When it comes to Righousness
“We are filthy rages in His sight”.
I dwell on these words you see,
Words written so beautifully!
HIS Grace is undeserving Love
Sent to all, from heaven above,
Be quick to forgive with much
Kindness and Love, As our Lord
Watches from Heaven Above.
Do not shun, Do not Fear!
The Kingdom of God is very near!

I like the first few lines of this one, I think you should rewrite it, then repost it. You need to take these ideas and perfect them. They have real potention and I'm interested in what you come up with. Keep up the good work, and its nice to see you back on the boards again!

Re: ajbird's Writtings/Poetry
Hello Bvr
I am still here. I don't want to bore anybody with some of the things I've written. I trust things are going well with you and yours.
John Bird
# 11 January 4-2004
I envision myself standing a couple of hundred feet away from and facing “the wall”
Only close enough that I., Am able to see all those named thereon.
I have not visited ‘The Wall”. However I fell I owe them this Commentary!.
“The Wall”
These names on this wall
Have answered their call
Only one out of ten
Young Woman and men
Stood up back then
Nine choose not to hear
What to me was quite clear?
Honor those who? Were There,
Who? Stood for us to be here!
Names engraved in Cold Granite
Lives taken for Granted!
Among these names you see
Might well have bee me!
Enlistee’s draftee’s and all
Have taken the fall!
Those nine out of ten
Draft eligible young men!
Found an easy way out
For those who? Had clout?
Excuses that still ring in my ear!
Then came the Paris peace accords!
What a cover up!, What a Fraud!.
Henry Kissinger, I believe!
Sold out You and Me!
Why and how this happened?
We will probably never know?
Oh to wake up and find,
It just wasn’t SO!
These names that appear here
Have overcome their fears!
The year now is 2000 and four
Will there be any more?
Years left in this life?
In which to do right! John Bird
# 12 January 5 2004
The Bible you see is God’s Poetry
In these time’s are signs that
The Good Book describes
Armies have begun Marching
Towards Armageddon,
Then we will now for sure!
That this end is Gods Cure!
No one here then will go
Who? Has not bowed low
We know not the time
Day, week, month or year
The second time for
Christ Jesus to appear
A new heaven will be formed
Then all will be done
Waiting for us to go home
All Together as one!
May God Bless
John Bird
